メイド喫茶 7.12.10

So a maid café has opened up in Imabari. For those of you confused right now, a maid café is a café where all of the waitresses are dressed up in maid costumes. I’d go into more detail, but I don’t really know much beyond that. Anyways, this created a bit of a buzz amongst the people at work. Most of the people were curious about it and there were discussions about arranging a trip. Consensus ranged from total agreement to apprehension. For the record, I was the former.

People were surprised that I actually knew the word for maid café, and even more so at the fact that I wanted to go. But in my mind, it’s something that doesn’t exist in America so why not? I mean, when am I going to get another chance to visit a maid café. Also, I’m fully aware this mentality could get me in trouble later, but at least I’ll have a good story right?

Anyways, there are tentative plans to visit the maid café. Unfortunately, the place is closed on Sundays, which warranted a lot of suspicion about the staff that works there. Seeing as how Sunday is a prime day for restaurants in the like, it was odd that they would be closed. I don’t really want to get into the details of it, but basically there were many speculations as to the age of the waitresses considering this abnormality.
